Our Story
We take great pride in being a local, eco–conscious, family–owned business. We are very serious about irrigation, but we try not to take ourselves too seriously. Our team is made up of down–to–earth professionals who are friendly and personable. We treat our customers like our neighbors because usually they are! We have been servicing King and Snohomish counties in Washington State since 1986.
- 1975 Bob French starts helping with his father–in–law’s lawn care business
- 1977 Bob takes over the business and continues providing landscaping services throughout Washington
- 1979 The company installs its first irrigation system
- 1986 Customer demand for irrigation services increases and the company begins to focus solely on irrigation
- 1990 The company is renamed French Landscape Irrigation, specializing in the design, installation, repair, and maintenance of irrigation systems
- 2006 Bob’s son, Chris French, joins the business as the third generation of Washingtonian landscapers
- 2019 Chris French takes over as owner of French Landscape Irrigation
- Today As our story continues to unfold, we strive to continue providing Washington with the same fast, friendly, and professional service that got us our start
Meet Our Team

Bob French
Founder
Bob is a native Washingtonian who got his start in the landscape business in 1975 mowing lawns for his father–in–law. Bob took over the lawn care business in 1977 and French Landscaping was born. He expanded the company to include installing landscape projects and by 1979 installed his first irrigation system with the help of his stepfather. As the landscape projects increased, so did the customer requests for irrigation, redirecting the business to a new focus. In 1990 the company was renamed French Landscape Irrigation and turned its full attention to the design, installation, repair, and maintenance of irrigation systems. In his spare time Bob is an avid golfer, enjoys traveling with his wife Cindy to Hawaii, Europe and various Disney parks, working in their large garden and he loves being a grandfather!

Chris French
Owner
While attending college Chris worked in a law office and soon realized an office environment was not for him. After college in 2006 he started working for his dad’s business — French Landscape Irrigation. What started as a summer job turned into a career. Working in the Irrigation industry he discovered he enjoys customer service and ensuring customers have high quality installed/maintained irrigation systems. Currently Chris is a certified Washington State licensed Backflow Assembly Tester and is working towards his certification as a professional irrigation contractor through the Irrigation Association. His main pastime is music — actively writing and performing music. He lives in Shoreline with his wife and son.

Tony Balinbin
Irrigation Technician
Tony started working for French Landscape Irrigation in 2009. He earned his bachelors degree from the University of Washington in 2010. He is a certified Washington State Backflow Assembly Tester as well as a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor. A Seattle area native, Tony appreciates the diversity of landscapes in the region. He loves being able to work outdoors in such unique environments. In his spare time, he enjoys running. To date, he has completed a marathon and several half–marathons. When not working or running, Tony enjoys BBQing, golfing and is a diehard Seahawks and Sounders fan. However, his most beloved team to root for is the UW Huskies. He currently resides with his wife and two children in Woodinville, WA.

Mason Berg
Irrigation Technician
Mason started working for French Landscape Irrigation during college and continued to work for us after graduating. After a few years honing his skills elsewhere, he returned to work for us in 2023. Another Seattle area native, he too enjoys working with his hands outdoors. When he's not at work, he can be found going on adventures with his dog, camping and fishing with friends.
